Tulip Belt

I started going to the library more often and picking up random books on nature and animals. I hardly ever read anything I pick up there but I love to look at the picts. Hmm.....I may have the mind of a kindergartner.haha. One of the books I recently got out talked about the myths,symbols, and superstitions behind different types of flowers. It had some really beautiful pictures and it inspired me to make the belt above.

I am REALLY tempted to keep it and I might. I need to think on it for a few days cause once I decide it's going in the store it stays in a basket(my make shift storage area) waiting to find it's owner. It's hard to spend hours on a project and not get the benefit of using it-however some extra money is always nice and seeing people wear my creations and loving them is also fun.
Anyways- life is good and it's Friday! Praise the Lord! This has been a busy week for me. Tonight I am hanging with some friends and hitting up Taco Express.

Grateful

I am feeling really grateful today.

This morning I met with some gals and as we prayed for our one friend who is leaving for the summer it reminded me of a time a few years ago when I felt very lonely and wanted so badly to make some new friendships. I thought there must be something wrong with me that I couldn't connect with the few acquaintances I had and felt really hopeless about life in general.

It's weird how the Lord takes you through different seasons. Seasons of loneliness- where you learn that only He can comfort you, seasons of hardships, and seasons of unbelievable joy.

He has blessed me so abundantly. Not only has He filled my life full of wonderful people ,but He has given me new passion for life. I am just thankful.

Also-on the craft front. I started tooling a really great belt last night. Can't wait to finish it so I can show you!

Vacation and Leather

It's been a little while since I last posted anything.

I recently got back from a vacation to the beach. It was in honor of my 6th year anniversary. Crazy how time flies!

It was a great time. The weather was perfect, I ate some really tasty meals, and relaxed...a lot. Ahh vacation.....

Today was my first day back at work and I know myself well enough to know that the first day back to reality is always sort of a depressing one-not that life is depressing because it's quite good ,but I think you know what I mean. It's all good though because I met a friend for white chocolate mocha's and I finished a few leather projects that I started before vacation. Also, a friend is coming over for a haircut and to hang. It's been a good day and now the weekend is here.

Documentry

I came home from work and just wanted to zone out for a bit.
So-I watched The September Issue.
I love documentaries of all kinds and since I like fashion as much as the next girl I chose this one from my Netflix watch instantly que. I wouldn't say it was good or bad. It was just interesting. A peek inside the world of Vogue magazine. Kind of sad really though to be so consumed with fashion because in the end fashion is pretty meaningless. But...that is just my opinion of course.

ice cream

Right now I am at work and it's incredibly slow. The weather is perfect outside but I am stuck inside sitting at a desk. I do however have a really big window in front of me. As I stare out of it I am dreaming of ice cream. I haven't had any in a while. Sounds really good.

faith,hope, and love

1 Corinthians 13:13-
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

These words have been swirling around in my head all week and so why not put them on a belt.
I love this belt so much that I am keeping it for myself. I put LOTS of hours into this thing. The leather was much thicker and tougher than the leather I have been working with so every step took quite a bit longer.

I am going to make this belt a custom order on my site so others can love it too!

This has been a really good week for me. I was kind of sick for a few days, but I am feeling better now.( I think I caught a stomach bug from a co-worker) I made 3 etsy sales this week and for me that is awesome! I also got to hang out with some really good gals. I have amazing friendships blooming here in Spring Hill. We got a little further on our bedroom painting and watched some good movies.
